Hi! My name is Arok. I don’t have a medical degree, and I’m certainly not a researcher. I’m "just"  a student who simply got tired of seeing people look utterly lost at the doctor's office, which made me wonder: Why is understanding our own bodies so incredibly difficult?

    Once I started paying attention, I saw the exact same script playing out everywhere. We expect people to make terrifying, life-altering health choices using information they can barely understand. Dense medical language, cryptic prescription labels, complicated lab results, and tangled insurance policies—it all feels like a foreign language, even to the smartest people I know. Digging deeper, I realized this isn't just a minor annoyance; it's a deep problem that involves approximately 90% of adults struggling to understand and use personal and public health information, making them at risk of poor health outcomes.

That realization completely shifted my focus. I refuse to accept a world where someone feels deeply intimidated by a new diagnosis, paralyzed by a test result, or too afraid to ask their doctor a question just because the language feels elite or gatekept. That is exactly why I founded HealthInMind.

    Our mission is straightforward: strip the complexity out of healthcare and translate it into plain human English. Through open-source visual guides, grassroots community workshops, and accessible digital tools, HealthInMind helps everyday people feel fiercely empowered (and improve the care they receive) rather than entirely overwhelmed by their care. So, what began as a personal curiosity has grown into a relentless commitment to fixing a broken communication system. Because knowing how to save your own life or care for a loved one shouldn't be a luxury for the few. Clear health information is a fundamental human right. And it belongs to everyone.
